Continuing Fanta's Legacy, One Fighter at a Time
Some rescues need more than a safe place to land.
They need months of veterinary care. Ongoing evaluations. Specialists. Therapy. Adaptive care plans. They need people willing to celebrate the smallest victories and remain committed through every challenge.
That is why we created Fanta's Fighter Fund.
Fanta taught us that rescue does not end after the first "yes." The hardest part often comes afterward, in the quiet, everyday commitment to helping an animal live the very best life possible. His determination continues to shape how we care for animals with complex medical needs, and his legacy lives on through every life this fund supports.
Today, three remarkable animals are part of Fanta's Fighter Fund.
Fanta
Nimbus
Nimbus
Nimbus arrived at Fabled Farm with obvious vision impairment and immediately stole our hearts with his gentle personality.
A veterinary examination confirmed what we suspected. Nimbus has a mature cataract in one eye, leaving him completely blind on that side. His other eye has an immature cataract, causing partial vision loss that is expected to progress over time. He is also being treated for an eye infection before beginning his vaccinations.
Once he has recovered, Nimbus will undergo a carefully monitored castration procedure at our veterinary hospital under full sedation. Because of his age and his special needs, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safest possible outcome.
His blindness does not define him. If anything, it has highlighted just how trusting, resilient, and incredibly sweet he is.
Mini Pearl
Mini Pearl with her seeing eye sheep friends, Reece and Toffee
Many of you have followed Mini Pearl's story since she arrived as a tiny premature lamb.
Born with immature cataracts, Mini Pearl has lived with limited vision from the very beginning. She has adapted beautifully, learning to navigate the world with confidence while relying on familiar voices, routines, and her flock. She reminds us every day that animals are remarkably resilient when given patience, understanding, and the opportunity to adapt.
As she grows, we continue to monitor her vision closely while providing the specialized care she needs to thrive.
Poppy
Poppy's journey has required ongoing medical management since the day she arrived.
Born with fused joints in both front legs, she faces mobility challenges that require careful monitoring, anti-inflammatory medication, supplements, and regular veterinary evaluations. Every decision we make is centered on preserving her comfort, mobility, and quality of life while allowing her to enjoy everything a young goat should.
Like Fanta, Poppy approaches each day with determination that far outweighs her physical limitations.

Because They Keep Fighting
Special needs animals rarely follow a predictable path. Their care changes as they grow. New challenges arise. Treatment plans evolve. Some days bring incredible progress, while others require us to adjust and try again.
Fanta's Fighter Fund exists so those decisions are never based on finances. It allows us to say yes to advanced diagnostics, specialist consultations, medications, therapy, adaptive equipment, and the ongoing veterinary care these animals deserve.
Nimbus. Mini Pearl. Poppy. Three very different stories with one common thread, each of them wakes up every day and simply keeps going. That quiet determination is exactly what Fanta taught us.
Thank you for helping us continue his legacy and ensuring that these fighters receive the compassionate, specialized care they need, not just today, but for every step of their journey.
Fanta’s Fighter Fund
Fanta’s Fighter Fund exists for the animals whose care is more intensive and ongoing. The ones who need daily hands on support, physical therapy, specialized feeding, frequent veterinary oversight, and often care from multiple specialists. These are the animals who, like Fanta, show up every day with quiet determination and an incredible will to keep going.
