Poppy & Posie
Intake Date: 5/13/26
Age: 7 months
Breed: Pygmy Goat
She doesn’t know she is different!
Sisters, Poppy and Posie, arrived after their owners realized Poppy needed specialized care and accommodations. Both Poppy and Posie were born with a dwarfism gene causing some mobility issues. Posie has made almost a full recovery with physical therapy, but Poppy’s issues were more severe with both of her front leg joints being fused.
Thankfully Poppy isn’t in any pain and doesn’t know that she is any different than other goats. She runs, jumps, and loves to climb on things! Since she is fearless, we created a special enclosure for her and Posie where everything was scaled with her safety and comfort in mind.
We are so happy to give these sweet girls a loving home where their needs can be met!
Favorite Things: Climbing on things, animal crackers, and exploring their new enclosure
Charley
Intake Date: 6/8/26
Age: 10 years
Breed: Nigerian Dwarf Goat
Meet the Assistant Farm Manager!
He might look like a goat, but don’t let that fool you…Charley takes his farm management duties very seriously! He inspects every Amazon delivery, supervises all events, assists with every volunteer task, and is always keeping a watchful eye out for any snacks left unattended.
We tried introducing Charley to the other sanctuary goats and he was unhappy and withdrawn. So we started letting him hang out with us around the farm. Well, now Charley walks around the farm like he owns the place, so we gave him the job of Assistant Farm Manager.
Charley adds so much humor to the farm and if you ever come to visit you’ll get to meet Charley!
Favorite Things: Getting into trouble, being involved in everything happening around the farm, and stealing snacks
Kit Kat
Intake Date: 9/5/22
Age: 3 years
Breed: Nubian Goat
Kit Kat is a miracle!
Kit Kat arrived at the rescue having to be propped up with straw bales, unable to stand.
The x-rays showed a shattered pelvis and a shattered femur head. Her injuries had happened months previously and the bones had healed as best they could. This poor girl had endured whatever trauma caused the injury and healed without any medical treatment. Our vet said euthanasia would be a kindness...but she was fighting to stand...so we decided to take a chance and do physical therapy and pain management.
Soon she was walking, then running, and now she jumps, plays, and chases the other goats
Favorite Things: Running, jumping, chasing, and playing with the other goats, and eating cedar branches
Rolo
Intake Date: 3/19/22
Age: 3 years
Breed: Nubian Goat
You might not have met Rolo, but he loves you already and can't wait to be your new bestie!
Rolo arrived with his brother, Twix as bottle babies. Unfortunately, Twix had underlying health conditions and even with the best care of the UT vets was unable to be saved. Rolo was heartbroken.
Kit Kat had arrived at the rescue a few months prior and was ready to move to the goat area (see her story under Special Needs Crew). Rolo and Kit Kat healed each other. She became the friend he needed and he taught her how to play. Their relationship is so special and truly heartwarming to witness.
Rolo now teaches visitors about goat care and what they need to be happy and healthy.
Favorite Things: Jumping on everything and animal crackers
S’more & Churro
Intake Date: 6/16/23
Age: 2.5 years
Breed: Nigerian Dwarf Goat
If you have ever lived with a toddler, then you know what life is like with adorable baby goats, S'more & Churro!
S'more arrived at rescue after having been trampled by his herd. He was left with neurological issues and blind in one eye. We immediately started physical therapy to help him regain balance and movement. He has progressed so far and now can run and play!
We knew S'more would need a long term buddy to help him navigate the world, and we heard about Churro. He was smaller than he should be and couldn't remain safely with his herd.
It was love at first meeting for these two and they have been inseparable ever since! They are part of the Education Program and are rock stars at public events.
Favorite Things: Getting into trouble and eating things they shouldn’t eat
The Candy Goats
Intake Date: 9/27/20

Sugar, spice, and everything nice...that's what these goats are made of!
Meet the first farm greeters: Butterscotch, Tootsie Roll, Peppermint, Gum Drop, and Lollipop!
These friendly ladies come running to the fence hoping for treats and pets as soon as visitors arrive.
They will also show off their playful skills by leaping around, chasing, and headbutting each other. Break out some animal crackers and paint and they will even create custom art!
It is a joy to have such a friendly and adorable group of goat ambassadors as part of the Sanctuary Program.
